SIDRA for the Week:

Shabbat Ends: 9.12pm
Thought for the week
'You shall be holy, for holy am I, Lord your G-d'. These words from the opening of the second Sidrah - 'Kedoshim' are best described as the mission statement of Judaism. Create a climate of holiness, and connect with the Almighty.
What’s interesting is how sanctity and holiness are generally associated with a religious experience. Praying, studying Torah, meditating, these spiritual activities are typically equated with holiness and purity. What our Sidrah demonstrates is that in Judaism the mundane activity is equally sacred.
The path to holiness is paved with kindness, charity, honesty, good business practice, personal morality, etc. From the bedroom to the kitchen, from the street to the office, there are many ways to express our piety. It is precisely our day-to-day regular experiences that bring us closer to G-d. Prayer and study are the icing on the cake!
