Quote of the week

This week we conclude the 4th Book of the Torah with a double Sidrah. One interesting feature of the combined Sidrot is that one gets to hear every musical note (the special tune of Leining) with the exception of one. It is unique since two of the notes appear only once in the entire Torah!

Although it is a physical challenge (the combination effectively makes it the longest Sidrah), it is also a Reader's paradise with all these notes interwoven throughout. The rhythm of the Sidrah is also, by and large, smooth and uplifting.

Leining is an integral part of the service. Spend some time to focus on the extra message that its unusual and mystical tune seems to share.
