Quote of the week

A Jewish parent blesses a child, the Rabbi does the same for a Bar/Bat Mitzvah, or at a wedding. The words used are always the same, taken from this week's Torah reading [Numbers: 6; 22-27]. It is the blessing chosen by G-d as the perfect conduit through which His kindness and assistance flow.

We say the words with care, focus, feeling and meaning. We genuinely wish the recipient to enjoy blessing and goodness.

May the Lord bless you and protect you…
Rabbi Mendel Lew
