Quote of the week

You shall be holy, for holy am I, Lord your G-d". These words from the opening of the second Sidrah - 'Kedoshim' are best described as the mission statement of Judaism. Create a climate of holiness, and connect with the Almighty. How is this sanctity achieved?

Through simple acts, which become Mitzvot. Honouring parents, observing Shabbat, assisting the needy – all these suggestions (and many others besides) enumerated in this week's Sidrah are the direct path to sacred living and creating a partnership with the Divine.

Judaism is often equated with complicated restrictions. Our Sidrah demonstrates that simple, honest, living is the true entry and key to religious happiness and success.
